SETTLING TANK COMBY 10

The comby 10 has been planned and created to solve the problems of effluent water sedimentation in small spaces. They are settling tanks of easy maintenance, high performance and chemical-resistant.

APPLICATIONS (Application sectors)

. For its great compactness and functionality the modular settling tank COMBY 10 finds its best placement in chemical-physical plants which need to treat many sq.m./hour of effluent water.
. The more common applications are galvanic sector, metal working of marble quarries, granite sand, inert, textiles, painting, but it is suitable for sedimentation of every type of water containing effluents which have a specific gravity bigger than water.
. The COMBY 10 equipment has been successfully applied also with the application of oil and foam collecting cone (oil separator). To get the correct dimension of the settling tank the necessary information is the water sedimentation speed and the capacity in sq.m./hour of effluent to be treated.

CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES

The COMBY 10 settling tank is made completely of fibre-glass, it exploits the gravitational and centrifugal decantation systems, inclined planes, giving an usable area up to 10 times larger than the occupied area without moving any mechanical parts and it is assembled with modular elements that are easily disassembled for maintenance or for any modifications or extension to the filtering pack. It is made basically of a container with conic bottom resting on galvanized iron feet, a small cyclone at the top that centrifuges the entering liquid separating the heavier particles, a modular pack of superimposed truncated conic elements which have a work area 10 times larger than the section of the container; this basically means that the equipment that we offer contains the capacity of a common settling tank in an area 10 times smaller. Sedimentation process begins at the top with the liquid centrifugation operated by the cyclone in order to separate the heavier parts; the liquid, with the other particles still suspended, is forced to descend towards the bottom of the container to return then to the top through inclined planes at a distance of approximately 5 cm. one from another, thus undergoing laminar decantation. When the particles deposited on the truncated conic surfaces reach a certain weight, they slide towards the bottom of the tank where mud gathers. The working principle of COMBY 10 allows the machine to be used, making few modifications, also as an oil separator or as the intermediate stage between large settling tanks and sand or coal filters to increase performance. MAINUTENANCE

The settling tank COMBY 10 is normally self-cleaning: it is sufficient to reduce the level of the liquid under the level of the modular pack to remove the mud deposited on the cones. Should it be necessary for certain types of mud, remove the modular pack as follows: remove the fixing screws of the pack from the settling tank, hold it in three points at the height of the stays and slowly lift it being sure that it comes out properly. If the outlet flange coupling is hard to remove, you can use a lever by making the pack wave at the height of the outlet. Once removed the pack, wash it with a jet of water avoiding scratching the pack and the inside of the settling tank. Assemble again the pack, insert and fix it. Take all precautions necessary for all other glass fibre products.
Periodically check the corrosion state of the tank, the supports and all other parts possibly in contact with corrosive liquids. Make these checks frequently depending on the characteristics of the products contained in the settling tank and, in any case, not longer than one year.
